VDM Metals Group opens Service Center in Korea

VDM Metals has opened a new Service Center in Korea to offer new and better services to their customers. Shorter delivery times as well as easier handling of large and small orders from a single source were the major factors for this decision. As a result, VDM Metals now operates four Service Centers worldwide and can further strengthen its sales activities in local markets.

VDM Metals restructures its organization, increasing the transparency of internal processes. Therefore all market and production related activities will be legally separated and bundled under the already existing Holding which in return will be strengthened. The new company structure will be implemented on 1 June 2016.

Titanium production at VDM Metals‘ location in Essen will be closed

VDM Metals GmbH will shut down its titanium production site in Essen, Germany. In recent months the company made intensive efforts to find a buyer for the site, but unfortunately in vain. Management Board and Works Council will negotiate a reconciliation of interests and a social compensation plan for the employees involved.

ThyssenKrupp to sell VDM group

ThyssenKrupp is selling the VDM group to Lindsay Goldberg, represented in Europe by Lindsay Goldberg Vogel, Düsseldorf. The contract partners concluded a corresponding agreement today. The purchase price has not been disclosed. Completion of the sale is subject to the approval of the supervisory boards and the competent antitrust authorities.

Good utilisation in the product areas of sheet metal and wire

Two large orders, with a delivery volume of almost 6,000 tons of sheet metal, ensure a good capacity utilisation of the VDM Siegen hot rolling mill and the Altena plate and sheet production site 8both Germany). The order books are also full in the product area wire.

Outokumpu VDM now operating under the name of VDM Metals

VDM returned to the ThyssenKrupp Group on March 1, 2014. Following entry in the Commercial Register of the Local Court in Iserlohn, Germany, Outokumpu VDM GmbH will be operating under the name of VDM Metals GmbH as of now.
