VDM Metals is taking the opportunity to present two new materials to its customers and interested parties in order to generate joint projects in the future. Firstly, the material VDM FM 31 Plus®, a nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum alloy with a controlled addition of nitrogen, will be presented. The optimised nitrogen and nickel content reduces the tendency of intermetallic phases to precipitate and stabilises the austenitic structure, which is particularly advantageous for build-up welding.

On the other hand, VDM presents the material VDM® FM 825 CTP, which was developed on the basis of VDM® Alloy 825, with more molybdenum and without the addition of titanium. The higher molybdenum content ensures better corrosion resistance and the absence of titanium ensures better weldability with a lower risk of hot cracking.
