Werdohl, Germany. Holger Arnold, previously Head of Production at the Unna site of VDM Metals, will become the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the VDM Metals Group, replacing Rolf Schencking.

1 .  July  2022

Rolf Schencking had been working as CTO for VDM Metals since April 2018. Against the background of the agreed expiry of his contract, the transfer of his duties now takes place by best mutual agreement. "We thank Rolf Schencking for the very good work he has done and wish him all the best for the future, both in business and in his private life," said Dr. Niclas Müller, Chief Executive Officer.

Holger Arnold has been working with VDM Metals since July 2016. He heads the Unna site with around 500 employees. Previously, the graduate metallurgist and materials engineer (RWTH Aachen) held a management position at Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) in Duisburg for over ten years. "Holger Arnold knows our company and the special characteristics of our products. In recent years he has shown that operational development and cultural change can complement each other perfectly - even in times of crisis," explains Dr. Müller.

The technical department comprises the fields of melting and casting, production of sheet, strip, rod, wire, powder, quality assurance/quality management, and research and development.
