ThyssenKrupp VDM is the first, and so far only, company in Germany, to be certificated by TÜV NORD for its Corporate Health Management (CHM) system. Of the 130 or so companies which have participated in the initiative to date, the Werdohl based company is the first to meet the high requirements at the first attempt.
"We are delighted to have received the certificate, for we have been working intensively in this field for years. So the certification procedures offered an ideal chance to put our system to the test and to identify further improvement opportunities," says Dr Jürgen Olbrich, Chairman of the Management Board of ThyssenKrupp VDM.
The certification programme was part of the Germany-wide HAWARD health initiative from TÜV NORD, supported by BARMER GEK and other enterprises, for the promotion and assessment of corporate health management. "ThyssenKrupp VDM has a very good overall concept for its corporate health management and it is internalized and lived across the company," said Ulf Theike, Director of TÜV NORD CERT, at the certificate award ceremony.
ThyssenKrupp VDM (Werdohl) produces high-performance materials, including nickel alloys, special stainless steels and semi-finished products in zirconium and titanium.
