VDM Metals has opened a new Service Center in Korea to offer new and better services to their customers. Shorter delivery times as well as easier handling of large and small orders from a single source were the major factors for this decision. As a result, VDM Metals now operates four Service Centers worldwide and can further strengthen its sales activities in local markets.
Initially, sheet metal, rods and welding wires, made of our high performance materials VDM® Alloy C-276, 601 and 825, as well as FM 82 and FM 625, are stored in an area of 1,500 square meters (16,146 square feet). In addition to the basic services, the Service Center also serves as a processing center and offers tailor-made customization as well as package deals. The machine park comprises a 10-ton crane, a band saw and a waterjet cutting machine; this facilitates the on-site production of short-term customer orders and individual manufacturing of 2D products according to technical drawings.
The new Service Center in Korea strengthens VDM Metals' global presence and the availability of its materials in Asia. "By setting up the Service Center in Korea, we can offer our customers an even better service in this important market. Due to the local proximity, we can implement short-term deliveries. The customers are very pleased that they can now receive long-term large orders from our smelting plant and short-term small quantities from one source", explains Lars Klöpper, Senior Vice President of the Stock & Service Center.
"We organized a customer day on the occasion of the opening of our new Service Center in Korea. The response of the participants was very positive. The needs of our customers and the new offer of VDM Metals were addressed. The new Service Center enables VDM to respond flexibly and quickly to customer requirements", said Seung Chun Chang, Managing Director of VDM Metals Korea.
